Immigration Print
Newsroom

I am firmly opposed to any form of amnesty for illegal immigrants. Over the past 20 years in congress, I have stated my opposition to amnesty during both Republican and Democrat administrations. In 2004, former President Bush proposed a temporary worker program. I was against this proposal since it amounted to an amnesty program. Our nation last granted amnesty in 1986 during the Reagan Administration. It was falsely claimed amnesty would bring an end to illegal immigration. Today with an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, the 1986 amnesty was clearly a failure. Should the Obama administration come forth with amnesty legislation in any form, I will continue my more than 20 year stand against amnesty. Read more . . .
