Job Summary

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, HIR Enterprise Operations is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to serve on a Windows server support team. The Candidate must have a thorough understanding of Windows-based server technologies (Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008), virtualization technologies using VMware, and server security hardening practices. Strong oral and written communication skills and the capability to handle multiple tasks are a must. Microsoft Systems Administrator certification required.

Major Duties:

Implementation and management of Windows servers, managing of virtual infrastructure, capacity planning, performance and trending analysis, security hardening, documentation, configuration management, technical support and application support.

Candidates are required to work a diverse schedule and participate in 24x7 support at all data center locations. Incumbent must have a high degree of professional expertise, technology, and business experience.

The position does not have day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities.

Requirements:

8 years experience with Microsoft systems administration in a large enterprise.

2 years of implementation and configuration experience in virtualized Windows environments

Microsoft Systems Administrator certification

Must be able to secure and maintain Federal Government security clearances as deemed appropriate by senior management.
