May 9, 2010 BP: Vessels of Opportunity Program*
The Vessels of Opportunity program has 3,100 owners signed up in the Mobile sector (which included Mississippi). Of the 3,100 owners there are 652 active contracts (these are owners receiving the day rate for their vessels) The information below shows how many individuals have attended the training sessions and how many contracts were signed at each session in Mississippi. Contracts are dropped off at our Community Liaison offices all day long and add to the total count.
These are the number of fishermen who attended along with the number of fishermen who have had contracts signed with BP to help with the oil response and clean up. These numbers continue to grow daily.
[NOTE: Please note that unless explicitly stated, these numbers are not just for Mississippi.]
