4th District

4thdist.jpg The Fourth Congressional District was created by the Arizona Redistricting Commission, based upon information received from the 2000 Census.

Based entirely in Maricopa County and centered around Phoenix in Arizona's rapidly growing "Valley of the Sun." The district encompasses South and Central Phoenix, it also stretches into the communities of Glendale and Guadalupe.

The district includes Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, the State Capitol, Phoenix City Hall, the Heard Museum of American Indian art and culture, Mystery Castle and shopping complexes, including the Arizona Center and Desert Sky Mall.   Bank One Ball Park and America West Arena home to the Arizona Diamondback and Phoenix Suns also reside in the district.

The district also includes a portion of the City of Glendale, a prosperous community that nearly doubled its population during the 1990's.

Its boundaries extend northward to Northern Avenue, as far west as 83rd Avenue, to the east at Priest Road, and to Chandler Boulevard to the South.
