Page Program

The House of Representatives Page Program is a great way for high school students to learn about the legislative process. It is an exciting experience students will remember for the rest of their lives. Many current Members of Congress, including Congressman Dingell, once served as pages in the House of Representatives.

Applicants to the Page Program must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a high school junior;
  • Be at least sixteen years of age; and
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Although pages are sponsored by individual members of Congress, they are employed by the Office of the Clerk. They work as a team on the House floor and assist all members of Congress.

Pages that serve during the academic year attend the House of Representatives Page School. There, they continue their 11th grade studies, while at the same time learning about the operation of the House of Representatives. Pages live in the Page Residence Hall and are supervised by a full-time staff. Pages are paid employees (room and board fees are deducted from their monthly paycheck).

As there are only limited positions available in the Page Program, obtaining a nomination is highly competitive. Students living in MIchigan's 15th District who are interested in serving as pages should contact Congressman Dingell's office for more information about the application process.

Visit the Office of the Clerk's website for more information about the Page Program.
