Flags

Constituents of the Seventh District of California can request to fly an American flag over the Capitol Building. Typically, flags are dedicated to a person, organization or event of your choice and can be flown on a specific date, including weekends and holidays.

Each flag is individually boxed and includes its own certificate (the specific language is at the discretion of the requestor).

Please note there is a nominal fee for the flag. We do not profit from the flag purchase - the cost covers the price of the flag, the flying and shipping fees.

To order a flag you must:

1. Fill out all the information on the form below (including the size and type of the flag) then click "calculate prices."

2. Make a check payable to "George Miller House Account" in the amount shown on the final page. You must mail the payment with your request in order for the flag order to be processed.

3. You must print the final page to send to the D.C. office.

4. Mail both the signed form and a check for the correct amount to the D.C. office. Please note that mail takes up to two weeks for mail to reach our D.C. office from California.

Care of the Flag

Most outdoor flags can be washed in mild detergent and thoroughly rinsed. Indoor and parade flags should be dry-cleaned. Damaged flags can be repaired and utilized as long as the overall dimensions are not noticeably altered. American Legion Posts and local governments often have facilities to dispose of unserviceable flags. Store your flag in a clean, well ventilated area.

Clicking on "Calculate Prices" will calculate shipping costs and the total amount due, and will show the results in the order request page that can be printed for mailing.
