Washington, D.C. — Today Congressman John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich.) released the following statement responding to the announcement of an additional $7 million in grants from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for the successful Weatherization Assistance Program. The program is responsible for weatherizing over 6,200 Michigan homes and creating over 550 jobs.
“I’m thrilled to hear that the Recovery Act will continue to play such an important role in promoting green energy efficiency efforts in Michigan,” said Conyers. “These additional funds will ensure that the Weatherization Assistance Program will continue to serve as a vital resource for our communities by creating good jobs and providing low-income families with lower energy bills.”
