Conyers Encourages Constituents to Use New Media
Washington, D.C – Representative John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich.) issued the following statement today explaining his adoption of various types of new media in communicating with his constituents. Through popular social networking tools such as Facebook and Twitter, Rep. Conyers is now able to keep in immediate reach with his constituents like never before.
The following can be attributed to Rep. Conyers:
“Never before during my tenure in Congress have I had the ability to communicate instantly with my constituents. The world has gotten immeasurably smaller with the advent of new media tools. Now I can have a meaningful one-on-one conversation with a constituent more quickly and simply than ever before.
For me, posting a message on Facebook or a video on YouTube is as beneficial as receiving a phone call or a letter. As always, I greatly value feedback from my constituents, and I encourage them to use any medium.”
