Internships

I invite you to apply as an intern in my office. You would assist with the many different aspects and functions of day to day operations in a congressional office. Interns provide the office with a unique perspective and at the same time, are able to learn about the legislative process and other facets of government. Please note that internships in my office are unpaid positions.

Summer is the most popular time for students to serve as an intern, however, I have internships available throughout the year. Therefore I welcome intern applications during any season or part of the school year. Intern opportunities exist in both my Washington, D.C. and District offices.

Applicants should possess good communication skills (writing and speaking), be computer literate and flexible. Applicants should be able to make a minimum 4 week commitment and have consistent availability throughout their internships. Most importantly, they should be self-starters who display initiative and creativity.

An internship in a congressional office is a great way to see first hand how our government works, perhaps even earn school credit, absorb a different culture, and add to your work experience.
