Named for Indiana Supreme Court Judge John Johnson, Johnson County was established in 1822 and is home to over 100,000 Hoosiers. The second fastest growing county in the Indianapolis metropolitan area, Johnson County provides lots of amenities but still maintains a friendly, hometown attitude.

Greenwood

Greenwood Freedom Festival (Greenwood, IN)

The Greenwood Freedom Festival is an exciting event that offers multiple activities, entertainment, food and fun for all ages, as we commemorate our national pride while fostering a sense of civic involvement and community celebration.

Each year, this free community event draws more than Forty Thousand (40,000) people from Greenwood, the Indianapolis South Side, and surrounding regions, and continues to grow into one of the largest one-day festivals of its kind in the local area. The Greenwood Freedom Festival offers a parade, food & business vendors, Old Towne Merchants Association Street Fair, live entertainment, concerts, Kids' Fairs, fireworks and much, much more.

The annual Freedom Festival is made possible by the continuing partnership between the City of Greenwood and a growing group of volunteers who work hard all year long, donating their time and efforts to planning and conducting this annual event for the community. Because the Greenwood Freedom Festival is offered free to the public, its volunteers and the sponsorship dollars raised are critical to its continued growth and success.

Johnson County Fair (Franklin, IN)

The Johnson County Indiana 4-H & Agricultural Fair is located in Franklin, Indiana and is held each year in the month of July. In addition to all the 4-H contests of every type craft, animal, bird, and aquatics we have a full midway and concessions, demolition derby, competition tractor pulls, antique tractor pulls, even pedal tractor pulls, as well as hundreds of commercial exhibits and many many events.
