Small Business Jobs Act
As a member of the Senate Finance Committee, Senator Debbie Stabenow has been working to create the right economic conditions for small businesses to create jobs. The credit crunch has kept many of Michigan's small businesses from accessing the credit they need to expand and hire workers.

Senator Stabenow was a leader in the fight to pass the Small Business Jobs Act, which is fully paid for. The bill will cut taxes for small businesses, increase access to capital, and help small companies sell their products overseas. The bill passed the Senate on September 16th, 2010, and now goes to the House of Representatives before being sent to the President for his signature. Read More...

Selling Michigan’s Agriculture
Senator Stabenow hosted a meeting at Western Michigan University with Jim Miller, Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Michigan food processors and manufacturers. The meeting gave Michigan businesses an opportunity to learn about federal export resources and provide critical input as the Federal government and Michigan companies partner together to open markets and increase exports. Under Secretary Miller is one of the highest-ranking officials at the Department of Agriculture and oversees the agency’s export assistance program to help food processors and manufactures sell their products overseas.
