If you plan on traveling outside the U.S. this holiday season you should sign up for the U.S. State Department Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) so that you can stay safe, connected and informed while traveling or living abroad.
By signing up for STEP, you provide the State Deprtment with information so that they can better assist you in an emergency overseas. Over the years, consular officers in U.S. embassies and consulates around the world have assisted thousands of U.S. citizens who have lost passports, experienced health problems or natural disasters, and other emergencies abroad.
With the holiday travel season right around the corner, it is highly recommend you apply for your passport early and sign up for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. Safe travels!
