Today, I voted with my colleagues in the House of Representatives in support of H.R. 1217 which honors Fort Drum’s 10th Mountain Division for its dedicated service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

H.R. 1217 congratulates the unit for continuing its work to help maintain US security here at home, provide humanitarian aid abroad, and their efforts to root out and fight terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We recognize the incredible sacrifice of the men and women of the 10th Mountain division and the incredible contributions they have made to our country. We also give our condolences to the family and friends of those lost and recognize the Fort Drum community for their steadfast support of our Armed Services.

Located in upstate New York, Fort Drum is home to the 10th Mountain Division which has been the most deployed division in the Army in the War on Terror.
