2010 Award–Winning Artwork on Display

Each spring, artwork created by some of the most talented young artists in North Dakota is selected for the 2010 Northern Visions Award sponsored by Senator Byron Dorgan.

Jurors choose pieces from among 700 pieces of art nominated by North Dakota teachers of kindergarten through high school students. The selection process is held annually at the North Dakota Juried Student Art Show, which is hosted at the Taube Museum of Art in Minot.

Below are the winners of the 2010 Northern Visions Award. These pieces are currently displayed in Senator Dorgan’s offices.

Alone

"Alone" is an oil pastel by Liz Russell. Liz is a senior at Grand Forks Central High School.

Animals at Play

Micah James used printing ink for "Animals at Play."  Micah is in the fourth grade and goes to North Plains Elementary School on the Minot Air Force Base.

It's Western

This is "It's Western" created by LeighAnn Reynolds.  It is an oil pastel painting. LeighAnn is an 8th grader at Bishop Ryan in Minot.

Looking down Kittson

This watercolor is entitled "Looking down Kittson."  The artist, Sam Erickson, is a senior at Grand Forks Central High School.

Vision Upon Brick

"Visions Upon Brick" is Tyler Loeffler's Digital Photography piece.  Tyler is a senior at the Magic City Campus in Minot.
