“As our caucus continues to mourn the loss of our beloved friend and colleague, Representative Juanita Millender-McDonald, we remain devout to our promise to continue her legacy of creating a more united America.
 
We congratulate the campaigns of all the candidates in the race for the 37th Congressional District of California and particularly applaud Assemblywoman Laura Richardson. Ms. Richardson successfully engaged the diverse constituency of the 37th District, while advocating for coalition building. This victory underscores democracy in its finest hour.
 
The Congressional Black Caucus will support Ms. Richardson as she continues her journey to the United States House of Representatives.”
