Guest Blogger: Robin Johnson on Helping Small Businesses

This week, I'd like to feature Robin Williams as my guest blogger. The following is his thoughts on Helping Small Businesses:

"I am encouraged that now Small Business Support is a National cause. Although in Harlem there have been economic development resources and different partnerships I continue to see major chains survive and know stories of small businesses who have gone by the way side.

I myself was a small business owner, Robins Liquors, that held my hopes for my son’s college. I started the business but at that time small business assistance was not a priority. I could have used more rapid response for my efforts to sustain the business.

I think both national chains well as small businesses must have a place in Harlem. After all it is what makes a neighborhood!"

Just wanted to thank you for your speech. I appreciate your push for openness & expediency in resolving issues. Too much goes on behind closed doors. Truth isn't an issue with the system as it is today, it's who can put the best spin on the situation. Thank you for standing up for truth & openness!

Sincerely
Sandra Brooks

Attaboy, Charlie! Said in the earnest straightforward way we've come to expect you to speak. I just watched you before Congress.
I've admired you for years. You were the only one with the jam to call for the draft for the Iraq war by way of trying to make them put up or shut up. I truly wish you well in your upcoming fight and hope you win reelection. I only wish I could vote for you.

Dear Representative Rangel:

Just wanted you to know that you have my support and my wife's (Hon. Virginia F. Stern, Supervisor of the Town of Stanford, Dutchess County NY 12514), I am the Acting Chair of the Town of Stanford Democratic Committee and a Member-At-Large of the Dutchess County Democratic Committee). Both my wife and I heard your speech that was delivered on the House floor. It was WONDERFUL, and inspiring. What you you empasized were what I considered to be the necessary lessons to your fair-weather colleagues. You have both of our prayers and our TOTAL support. DO NOT RESIGN !!!!!!!!!!! I am exactly your age and want you to know that you are my hero in Congress.
