WASHINGTON--Senator-elect Roy Blunt (Mo.) and nine other Senators-elect have requested that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid reserve consideration of the “New START” Treaty between the United States and the Russian Federation for the 112th Congress, which will begin in January.

BLUNT ANNOUNCES PLAN TO REIN IN FEDERAL SPENDING

WASHINGTON--Senator-elect Roy Blunt (Mo.) today announced his intent to introduce a plan which will be similar to legislation Blunt advocated in the House last year to cut discretionary spending by the total amount of earmarks in the most recent budget year. Blunt called his plan "a critical step toward cutting spending and, more importantly, applying that savings to reducing the deficit."
