March for Life in Our Nation’s Capital (January 2010) PDF Print

Thousands of people gathered in our nation’s capital today to advocate for the rights of the unborn on the 37th anniversary of Roe v Wade. I was pleased to join my fellow citizens in supporting these rights, and I spoke briefly regarding my thoughts on the issue. You can read my remarks from today’s event below:

“Thank you all for coming here today. It’s great to see so many here in support of life. I commend all of you who have traveled here to defend the rights of unborn children.

“We must work together to foster a culture that rejects abortion on demand and protects the unborn. Across our nation, Americans have stated loud and clear: tax payer money must not be used for abortions. More and more Americans are recognizing that human life should be welcomed and wanted by parents and communities. Through acts of compassion and love by people like you, and advances in science that unmistakably demonstrate the presence of human life from conception, we are changing minds and hearts and drawing closer to the day when our nation once again protects the inalienable right to life.

“Thank you again for coming to our nation’s capital. Your efforts are making a difference in the lives of millions. God bless you.”
