“From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every American who has served in uniform. They are part of a proud tradition of American patriots who have defended our nation and our way of life because of their great love for this country. We simply could not have become an independent nation and the world’s only superpower without our veterans from years gone by, and we simply cannot maintain our cherished liberty and security without our active duty troops today. Their service has helped keep the United States strong and free, and it is our duty to honor those who have served, not only on Veteran’s Day, but every day, so that they may always know our appreciation and gratitude for their sacrifices for our nation.”
