Kucinich Urges Obama to Meet with Hugo Boss Workers

Washington, Jan 21 -

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) has urged President Obamato meet with workers and union representatives from the Hugo Boss suitproduction plant during his January 22 visit to Ohio. German executives at HugoBoss have announced that the production plant in Brooklyn, Ohiowill be permanently closed by April 27, 2009 eliminating 400 local jobs.

“Many of the workers that are scheduled to lose their jobshave substantial work histories at the plant, which Hugo Boss purchased in1995. … I ask that you meet with Workers United and the workers of the HugoBoss factory, so that they can share with you their experiences and to identifyways in which you may be able to be of assistance,” said Kucinich in his letterto President Obama.
