Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) Friday sent a letter to Mr. Joseph Calabrese, General Manager of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA), regarding its recent award of three Recovery Act grants totaling $12.5 million. The grants include $3.2 million for “operating assistance.”  Kucinich requested that the money designated as operating assistance be used to restore jobs and bus routes slated for elimination.  Kucinich also requested that Mr. Calabrese use the operating assistance funds to restore the popular Lakewood Circulator.
