In 2008, the Virginia modeling and simulation industry was responsible for employing 11,500 private sector employees and produced a direct economic output of $1.6 billion.  Not only is the M&S industry vital to Virginia’s economic success, but it is also a key player in helping America to stay competitive in a rapidly changing, high-tech world.

    Congressman Forbes, My own Congressman (Sarbanes MD) is not a member of the Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Caucus. The MD Congressman who is (Ruppesberger) does not permit mail from MD taxpayers who do not live in his district. Therefore, I'm appealing to you as the leader of the M&S Caucus to voice strong objection to the Economic Classification Policy Committee’s (ECPC) recommendation not to create new North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes for the M&S industry. Please support the creation of new NAICS codes for M&S, as outlined in the proposal submitted earlier this year (Docket 12-0019) by a coalition of industry groups led by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA): 541950 – Modeling & Simulation Services 3392 – Simulation System Manufacturing You already know that Virginia has an M&S Industry, please ensure the ECPC knows the industry exists and is spread across the world. Models and simualtions are not just software. The people who develop models and simulaitons, build simulators, integrate simulations, create distributed simulation environments, and operate simulations are not just software engineers.

    Representative Forbes, I just watched the video presentation of your speech in the House recalling our Christian heritage and I am thankful that there is still truth going forth in those special halls that were gained for us by the sacrifice of our Founders. I would like to obtain a copy of that speech, if I can. Would you please have one of your staff contact me if they would like me to send a postage paid envelope, or just e-mail it to me if possible. By the way, I viewed the video on 'The Hal Lindsey Report' on TBN. Hal is doing a special this week called 'Does the Flag Still Wave'? God help us all in the midst of liberal lies, the abortion, the homosexuality, the pornography that is pouring out of this country, and the need for repentance. God help us and forgive us. Thank you Congressman Forbes for your bold reminder to the whole House of Representatives of who we are as a people; a Judeo-Christian heritage people. Thank you again, Tim McCown (from Michigan)

    These methods facilitate the modeling of complicated geometries and the ... as for example in the simulation growing cracks or moving phase interfaces.

    When modeling and simulation is disconnected from the overall development lifecycle, it generates increased risk and increased cost for development. Model driven development and testing has revolutionized the automotive and aerospace industries, however the models themselves and the process of modifying or testing the model is typically very disconnected from the overall development process. Implement a repeatable process to enhance efficiency.

Forbes, a far-right Christian, openly despises atheists and, no doubt, the notion of becoming the first Congressman to debate an atheist challenger.Forbes, a lawyer who went straight into politics, was recently heard on a Christian radio broadcast spewing anti-atheist hatred.
