The town of Braintree seeks funding for the restoration and rehabilitation of the Original Thayer Library built in 1874. The Town proposes to utilize the former library building for community and municipal meeting space. Located within the Braintree Center Historic District, the re-opening of the Original Thayer Library will assist also with the Town’s historic tourism activities with its economic initiatives of the South Braintree Square business area.
