Baird Announces $1.4 Million for Longview Infrastructure (August 27, 2009)

Washington, D.C.-  Today, Congressman Brian Baird (D-WA-03) announced $1.4 million in federal funding is coming to Longview to help improve the city's infrastructure.   The money will be used to extend South Weber Avenue, and build water infrastructure to serve the nearby Mint Farm Industrial Park.  The project is expected to create 365 new jobs. This grant comes from the Economic Development Administration as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

"This is the another case of the Recovery Act helping put people back to work, and helping ensure that our infrastructure is able to meet the needs of our growing community for years to come," said Congressman Baird.
