Enacting policies that help to create new jobs and grow our economy is a priority for me. Among the best ways to do this is to keep taxes low so that Americans have more of their own money to spend and invest, to reduce burdensome regulations on small businesses so they are able to expand and hire more workers, and to limit wasteful government spending.

In the 110th Congress, I helped stop the largest tax increase in American history on workers, parents, married couples, small businesses, and those saving for retirement. This tax increase would have placed a huge drag on an already sluggish economy. I am also committed to reforming the Alternative Minimum Tax and I believe it is time Congress limits the growth of federal spending to a level at which we can afford.
