Knowing of your interest in immigration issues, I wanted to let you know I signed a letter to President Barack Obama expressing concern about the deteriorating security situation along the Southern Border. You can find it here.

I support legislation to implement stronger border enforcement, expand the border fence, and deploy more National Guard troops to help secure the border. I also support changing laws that inhibit border patrol agents from doing their job. I’m a cosponsor of H.R.5016, a bill to prohibit the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture from taking action on public lands which impede border security. With the threat of drug violence escalating, we need to strengthen our overall security presence at the border.
