This week, the Labor Department kicked off a campaign to offer assistance to illegal immigrants who believe they are facing wage disparities. In the Public Service Announcement, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis says workers -- legal or not -- have the right to fair wages.
"You work hard, and you have the right to be paid fairly," she says. "And it is a serious problem when workers in this country are not being paid every cent they earn. Remember, every worker in America has the right to be paid fairly, whether documented or not. So call us." You can watch the PSA here. At a time of almost 10% unemployment, I believe our Department of Labor should be focusing all of their energies on protecting American jobs and enforcing our labor laws. It is illegal to hire workers that are in our country illegally. I want to know what you think about this PSA. Post a comment with your thoughts.
