DHS Says Terrorists Illegally Crossing U.S.-Mexico Border
Posted by Randy | May 27, 2010
I read a concerning report this morning that the Department of Homeland Security is issuing a terror watch for possible illegal crossings into the U.S. by terrorist suspects and recruiters, particularly from the Somalia-based Al Shabaab terrorist group. Al Shabeeb is a group that has been closely aligned with al-Qaeda.

I have long said that if we are unable to control our borders, we will be unable to maintain a nation that is secure. Border security is a primary component of national security.

The attempted Times Square bombing and Christmas Day airliner attack should be enough of a reminder that there are still terrorist organizations that are actively trying to kill Americans citizens. We cannot allow terrorists to be smuggled across the U.S.-Mexico border because of the Administration’s refusal to secure the border.

Our immigration laws are not about economics, politics or simply controlling entry into our country. They are first and foremost about protecting the lives of American citizens.

In fact securing the borders and protecting our Nation is one of the few jobs that our central government should be involved in, "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States (Article II, Section 1)." And, "To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, ...", To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;" (Article I, Section 8 If our executive, legislative and judicial branches would confine their activities to those directed and permitted by the Constitution we would be able to return to a short annual session of the congress to take care of the business of the central government. I am a Virginian, thus, Sic semper tyrannis!

I agree that national security is one of the major responsibilities of the federal government. This administration is all over the map taking our lives away from us, and not concerned with illegals. This country has made it too easy to get freebies. It is my opinion that babies born to illegals should not have instant citizenship. They are just as illegal as the parents. And these very babies get all kinds of perks and free money. Our nation is quickly becoming a welfare nation, dependent on government to give us our lives. I prefer free enterprise, capitalism, working for what you get. Get that border closed and enforce the immigration laws. Letting illegals run roughshod will only serve to further turn the U.S. citizens against the federal government. Can I go to another country and get government money?

I believe that illegal immigration has hurt our country to the point that we have been possibly over taken by them. I am afraid that they are making cold war tactics by continuing to disregard what we say and treat us like they have taken over. They don't deserve to be here and we don't want them here. I hope that the leaders of America will unite and drive them out of our land before we start experiencing even more severe conditions. They've ruined our infastructure, resources and property by exhibiting a blatant disregard for it. Thanks for your great mind and leadership, Randy.
