The Senate mirror collection consists of over 100 objects, including wall mirrors, floor mirrors, pier mirrors, and attached window cornices, primarily purchased in the mid and late 1800s. All the mirrors are on display in offices and public reception areas in the Senate wing of the U.S. Capitol. The Senate’s historic mirror collection reflects a range of 19th-century American decorative styles. The frames convey historic and aesthetic values linked to the history and architectural splendor of the U.S. Capitol.
