House Passes Energy And Water Appropriations; Rep. Young Announces Over $30 Million In Project Funding For Alaska

Washington, D.C. – Alaskan Congressman Don Young is pleased to announce constituent projects of interest to Alaska totaling over $30,000,000 in H.R. 3183, the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2010.  This legislation appropriates money for related sectors of the Department of the Army-Civil, Corps of Engineers, the Department of the Interior, and the Department of Energy. 

Constituent projects of interest to Alaska:

  • $500,000 operations and maintenance for St. Herman’s Harbor in Kodiak
  • $1,000,000 for geothermal energy project at University of Alaska Fairbanks
  • $900,000 for high penetration wind power in Tatitlek, AK
  • $3,000,000 for construction of St. Paul Harbor
  • $100,000 investigation study for Matanuska River Watershed
  • $450,000 investigation study for Yakutat Harbor
  • $2,816,000 operations and maintenance for Chena River Lakes
  • $885,000 operations and maintenance for Dillingham Harbor
  • $400,000 operations and maintenance for Homer Harbor
  • $168,000 operations and maintenance of completed works in AK
  • $820,000 operations and maintenance of Nome Harbor
  • $930,000 project condition surveys in AK
  • $18,659,000 operations and maintenance of Anchorage Harbor
