WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Greater Egypt Regional Planning and Development Commission, which serves the counties of Franklin, Jackson, Perry and Williamson, has been awarded a $199,884 grant by the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The funds will be used to support long-term regional economic development planning efforts.
“This funding provides important support for the local economy,” Costello said. “Economic development depends on sound planning and cooperation at all levels of government.”
