WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Illinois Department of Transportation has received a $5,000,000 Clean Fuels grant through the Federal Transit Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funds will be used in Madison County to replace inefficient gas and diesel-powered buses.
“Maintaining efficient transportation systems gives commuters options and saves fuel, and this needs to be a part of any national energy policy,” said Costello, a senior member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. “I will continue to work to ensure there are adequate resources for these programs.”
