WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL), Chairman of the House Aviation Subcommittee, today applauded Senate passage of legislation to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The House passed H.R. 915, the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2009, last May.
“Senate passage of its bill is a critical step in our process,” Costello said. “I have said for some time that I am confident that once we get to conference we can craft a final version of the legislation and enact it into law in a timely manner. We have some significant issues to discuss, but I think we all agree that this bill is critical for our aviation system and must be completed. I look forward to the work that lies ahead.”
