WASHINGTON – Four staff members from Alton Middle School met with U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) in his Washington, D.C., office today. Principal David Schwartz, Assistant Principal Latasha Porter, Assistant Principal Brian Saenz and teacher Brenda Powers were in Washington to represent the Alton school, which was recognized with 90 other high-performing schools across the nation as a “School to Watch” by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform. The organization held its annual conference this week in Arlington, Virginia.
