WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Southern Illinois University Carbondale has received a $119,987 grant from the National Science Foundation. The award is in support of a project titled, “Integral representation of Langlands L functions,” under the direction of Joseph Hundley.
“Support for this type of project helps advance the academic mission of the University,” said Costello, a senior member of the House Science and Technology Committee. “As a nation, we must continue to invest in basic research as a means of educating our students and growing our economy, and the National Science Foundation is an extremely important part of this effort.”
