Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Inc., located in Marion, has been awarded a $10,723,950 contract by the U.S. Army. The contract is for the First Article Test for Lightweight 30MM M789 High Explosive Dual Purpose Cartridges. Sixty percent of the work will be performed in Marion.
“The dedicated employees at General Dynamics are helping sustain our armed forces,” said Costello. “This is important work that also supports the local economy, and I am pleased that it is being done in Southern Illinois.”
