WASHINGTON – Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that Carbondale Elementary School District #95 has received a $199,577 grant through the Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Program of the U.S. Department of Education. The funds from this grant, which is anticipated to be for a total of two years, will be used to help the school district strengthen and improve its emergency response and crisis management plans.
“These are important funds to ensure that our schools are well prepared for emergencies,” said Costello. “Proper planning is critical for anticipating problems and coordinating an effective response, and I will continue to support these efforts.”
