Seven U.S. representatives from Alabama were recently honored by a national small business advocate.

The National Federation of Independent Business recognized the representatives from across the state as Guardians of Small Business.

The award praises outstanding voting records on behalf of national small business owners in the 111th Congress, according to a news release.

Alabama representatives honored included: Rep. Jo Bonner, R-Mobile; Rep. Bobby Bright, D-Montgomery; Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Anniston; Rep. Robert Aderholt, R-Haleyville; Rep. Parker Griffith, R-Huntsville; Rep. Spencer Bachus, R-Vestavia Hills; and Rep. Artur Davis, D-Birmingham.

“Small business owners pay close attention to how their lawmakers vote on the issues affecting their businesses,” said Dan Danner, NFIB president and CEO. The Guardian award is a symbol of sincere appreciation from the small business community for votes that supported their ability to own, operate and grow their businesses.

Nationally, the NFIB awarded more than 200 U.S. representatives as Guardians of Small Business.
