Select Committee to Hold Hearing on Deploying Oil From Strategic Petroleum Reserve


On Wednesday, July 23, 2008, Chairman Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming will hold a hearing on how releasing oil from America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve can bring immediate relief to high oil and gas prices. The past three presidents, including President George W. Bush, have successfully used the SPR to reduce oil prices during times of crisis.
