Wounded and Deceased Veteran Resources

WOUNDED VETERANS

One of the biggest challenges faced by Wounded Veterans and their caregivers is finding existing services, both from the VA and state/local organizations.  Here are some links to help our wounded heroes and those who help them each and every day:

The National Resource Directory is an online tool for wounded, ill and injured Service Members, Veterans, their families and those who support them. It provides access to thousands of services and resources at the national, state and local levels to support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration.
The National Resource Directory offers information on:

• Benefits & Compensation
• Education & Training
• Employment
• Family & Caregiver Support
• Health
• Homeless Assistance
• Housing
• Transportation & Travel
• Other Services & Resources

2.      The Warrior Gateway - http://www.warriorgateway.org/

The Warrior Gateway Program has been designed to promote easier reintegration into home communities. It establishes a single capability that serves as a trusted and reliable resource for the military community to quickly locate service organizations that satisfy their needs, identify academic programs they are interested in and easily find employers seeking their valuable skills, while enabling improvements in the service provider sector through metrics and collaboration.

3.      Maryland’s Commitment to Veterans - http://mdva.state.md.us/VBHAB/index.html

This site is operated by the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs and has the objective of connecting Veterans to available services.  The site focuses on behavioral health services for Veterans

4.      Network of Care - http://networkofcare.org/index2.cfm?productid=17&stateid=25

The Network of Care is designed as a “one-stop shop” for Veterans and Families and also  covers virtually all services, information, support, advocacy, and much more.

5.      The Wounded Warrior Project - http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org

Based out of Jacksonville, FL, this organization is working to empower wounded warriors, their families, and their caregivers.  They support everything from Caregiver Retreats to family support to benefits counseling.
