Legislation Description
CLEAR Act The CLEAR Act (H.R. 3534) holds BP and responsible parties accountable for the mess they made in the Gulf, prevents future oil spills, and protects our coastal communities and water by creating new safety measures and strengthening oversight of oil drilling.
Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act The Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act for FY 2011 (H.R. 5850) creates new jobs and boosts our economic recovery with investments in roads, bridges and homes.  It will help Americans who have been hurt by the recession over the short-term, as well as strengthen our economy over the long-term by making key investments in improving our infrastructure.
Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (H.R. 4173) reins in Wall Street, ends taxpayer bailouts of big banks, and creates a consumer financial protection bureau that finally puts consumers first.  This bill ends the era of abuses by "too big to fail" banks that have cost the American people 8 million jobs and $17 trillion in retirement savings and net worth.
The DISCLOSE Act The DISCLOSE Act will shine a light on the role of special interests by increasing disclosure and strengthening transparency in federal campaigns.  The law, which passed the House on June 24, 2010, is the most far-reaching and significant campaign finance reform law since the McCain-Feingold Act, prevents big corporations from drowning out the voices of the American people in elections
Small Business Lending Fund Act The Small Business Lending Fund Act creates a small business loan fund that is designed to boost bank lending to small businesses struggling to gain access to credit due to the financial crisis. The legislation will establish a $30 billion fund to boost lending to small businesses looking to hire and expand their operations by providing additional capital to community banks. The legislation also provides $1 billion in financing to support early stage small businesses in the form of true equity financing.
Federal Housing Administration (FHA) Reform Act of 2010 The Federal Housing Administration Reform Act will save taxpayers $2.5 billion over five years and make crucial reforms to strengthen the operation of the FHA, which has helped 37 million Americans buy homes since 1934. This will help families realize the dream of homeownership, especially low-income and minority families, through responsible lending.
The American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act The American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act extends unemployment benefits and supports more than a million American jobs by helping restore credit to small businesses, extending the R&D tax credit, rebuilding American roads and bridges, and providing tax relief for millions of middle class American families.
Home Star Jobs Bill The Home Star Jobs Bill would provide rebates to homeowners who install energy-saving products and reduce energy use in their homes.
