Washington, D.C. — Today, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation held an oversight hearing to highlight the need for acquisition reform at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Washington, D.C. –An op-ed by Ranking Member Steve Buyer entitled “We Owe Our Veterans More Job Opportunities” has been posted in The Hill’s Congress Blog. In the article, Buyer expressed the need for improving job opportunities for veterans as outlined in H.R. 4220 the “Promoting Jobs for Veterans Act of 2009” which he introduced on Tuesday.  

Washington, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Buyer and nine Members of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs introduced H.R. 4220, the Promoting Jobs for Veterans Act of 2009.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Buyer introduced H.R. 4221, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Acquisition Improvement Act of 2009, which would provide better control and coordination of contract awards and help guard against fraud and abuse.

Washington, D.C. —Today, Ranking Member Steve Buyer said he will request an independent review of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) allocation process to help ensure that each VA medical center is able to provide timely treatment for veterans.
