Around the Capitol

The Capitol is full of exciting things to see and symbols of America. In the House Chamber, where the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives meet, you will see eagles on special items like the mace and the coin silver inkstand. Of course, you will also see an American flag behind the rostrum.

Lots of people work in the Capitol, too. You may see House Pages in the hallway bringing messages to Members. Members may be in the House Chamber voting on a bill. Capitol Police Officers may be patrolling the hallways. You may also see tour guides showing visitors the art and history of the Capitol. You can take your very own tour of the Capitol led by A. Bill.
