Last December, Congressman Dennis Kucinich (OH-10) announced his request for an investigation into the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) backlog of issuing combat-injured veteran pay created by the contractor Lockheed Martin.
Approximately 60,000 veterans are still waiting for a determination of eligibility and payment of benefits.
Congressman Kucinich and Congressman Bob Filner (CA-51), Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, will report on their inspection of Lockheed Martin and briefing at DFAS . In addition to an update on the backlog, the Congressmen will discuss the Montgomery GI Bill and mental health care for veterans.
