The Future of Medicare Summit
Friday, October 19, 2007 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Parma Senior Center 7001 West Ridgewood Drive Parma, OH
This
meeting will be an opportunity for the exchange of questions and
information about legislative initiatives and issues pertaining to
Medicare.
Since 1997, U.S. government efforts allowing private
insurance companies to administer Medicare have dramatically increased,
even though health services under private Medicare plans cost taxpayers
12 percent more on average than services under traditional Medicare,
according to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.
While the profits of the insurance industry climb, the solvency of Medicare is increasingly threatened.
Both
events are free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend both
events and participate in these important conversations.
