A state Judge this morning ordered Regional Transit Authority (RTA) to hand over emails and internal documents concerning the operation, funding and proposed discontinuation of the Lakewood Circulator and other Circulators in the RTA system.  The Lakewood Circulator has been scheduled by RTA to end service on September 20. The court ordered the release of these documents following legal filings by Lakewood Mayor Ed FitzGerald and Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) Monday.  

“The court’s action is a major step forward for those who rely on the Circulator or public transportation in the Cleveland area.  Transparency will help ensure the right decision is made about the fate of the Circulator,” said Kucinich. 

Judge John Sutula of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas has scheduled a 3:00 P.M. follow-up hearing for Friday September 4 to determine compliance with his order.
