Health Care Reform Report - Summer 2010

This spring, Congress and the President made history by enacting comprehensive Health Care Reform that guarantees affordable, quality coverage for all Americans. I was proud to support this critically important vital legislation.
According to the Congressional Budget Office, the Affordable Care Act is estimated to extend health insurance coverage to 32 million additional Americans.
Perhaps just as importantly, it improves coverage to those who already have it by instituting common sense consumer protections, and helps lower costs for individuals and families.
In addition, the law actually reduces the deficit by $143 billion over the next 10 years, and reduces the deficit by $1.2 trillion over the following 10 years.
