Washington, Oct 29 -

Today representatives from Arkansas’s Veterans Affairs (VA) health care system received top honors at the 19th Annual Robert W. Carey Awards for Performance Excellence, recognizing the exemplary quality of service they are providing to Arkansas’s veterans. Each year the Carey Awards, some of VA’s highest honors, are presented to VA organizations that have demonstrated noteworthy levels of performance excellence.

The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, located in Fayetteville, was honored with the Robert W. Carey Performance Excellence Award, which recognizes VA organizations for the implementation of management practices that produce the highest levels of performance and service to our nation’s veterans.

The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, located in Little Rock, was honored with the Robert W. Carey Trophy Award, the VA’s highest recognition for quality achievement and service to our nation’s veterans. Each year this award is presented to no more than two of the VA’s highest performing organizations for quality achievement.

“To have not just one, but two of Arkansas’s VA organizations receive such prestigious recognition for the service and care that they provide to our veterans is a great honor for our state and the VA employees at these facilities,” Boozman said. “These awards recognize that these facilities are the benchmark for standards to be followed by other VA health care systems and we are so blessed to have them working for our veterans. Congratulations to all the VA employees in Arkansas who earned these honors and we appreciate all the hard work you do for our veterans every day.”
