Internships

To participate in our internship program, the applicant must be a student or professional participating in a sponsored internship program for educational benefit, and must be available no less than 8 hours per week.  Previous work experience is not necessary; however, the applicant must display the high level of diligence, responsibility, and professionalism appropriate to a Congressional office.

The intern will be provided an opportunity to observe and participate in the legislative process, as well as constituent services through a variety of activities in the Congressman's Washington or District offices.  He or she will gain first-hand experience in the daily functions of the office, participating in general office support and interacting with all members of the staff.  Responsibilities will also include at least one special project.  The special project will be defined at a time of hire according to the needs of the office, and tailored to the applicant's educational or professional goals whenever possible.
