Washington, D.C. – In January, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs Steve Buyer introduced H.R. 293, The Homeless Women Veterans and Veterans with Children Reintegration Act of 2009, that will provide grants for job skill training for homeless woman veterans and veterans with children.  This bill was later included in H.R. 1171, the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, which was passed by the House of Representatives on March 30, 2009.

This week, the National Journal’s new online feature “Six Degrees of Legislation” has a moving piece on the bill that includes an interview with Ranking Member Buyer. Please click here to take a look.
